CASTING METHOD
We perform gypsum mould casting and provide Rapid Casting. Our casting method is suitable for volumes ranging from 1 to 1000 pieces per year. Our casting methods deliver high-quality aluminum castings that meet high requirements for surface finish and dimensional accuracy.
PRECISION CASTING
Precision casting in gypsum moulds is an ideal method for creating complex shapes with high dimensional accuracy and superior quality. This technique offers great design flexibility and allows for the production of components with very thin wall thicknesses and low weight.
Precision castings are suitable for lightweight constructions, as sections down to 0.8 mm can be casted and heat-treated without difficulty.
Gypsum mould casting using the SPM (Semi-Permanent Mould) method is best suited for somewhat larger and heavier castings, ranging from 0.5 to 50 kg, in batches of 5 to 500 pieces.
THE PROCESS

DEVELOPMENT PHASE
During the customer's design phase, we act as an active support to optimize the upcoming production, including through casting simulation.

PREPERATION
Based on the customer's 3D data, we prepare the job for production, including model manufacturing, machining, and fixture creation. File formats: IGES or STEP.

MODEL MANUFACTURING
The models are manufactured in aluminium in our own model workshop. From the models, mould parts are formed in gypsum.

CASTING
Once the gypsum mould has dried, the details are casted.

CLEANING
After casting, the gypsum mould is removed and the casting system is cut off. The casting is then cleaned of casting system residues and flash.

HEAT TREATMENT
In various furnaces, we have the capability to anneal and solution treat the castings.

STRAIGHTENING
After heat treatment, the casting is straightened to regain its desired shape. The alignment is done in specially manufactured alignment fixtures.

MACHINING
After alignment, the components are machined in our CNC machines.

ASSEMBLY
If needed, we assemble components such as for example threaded inserts.

QUALITY CONTROL
Measuring of the components is carried out according to the customer´s specs.
RAPID CASTING
Rapid Casting is a casting method for fast production of functional prototypes in aluminium, magnesium, and zinc alloys. The method was originally developed within the Electrolux Group for the creation of prototypes for chainsaw cylinders. In collaboration with our partner, we deliver these castings.
The Rapid Casting method is based on, from a 3D model, printed SLS models (Selective Laser Sintering) that are formed into gypsum. After the gypsum mould dries, the SLS model is burned away, allowing for casting to take place. The method is fast and enables the casting of very complex geometries in small quantities, from 1 to 10 pieces.
